Safer Homes
NDDT’s ‘Safer Homes’ project has made hundreds of homes safer across North Doncaster. This project formed part of a nationwide government initiative design to reduce burglaries, lower insurance premiums and make homes safer. According to Home Office figures, 18% of people in the UK don’t have door locks, while 14% don’t have window locks. As a result, £6m were allocated to improve security in 45,000 homes across the country. North Doncaster being one of the 93 areas identified as a priority. The 6 month project delivered by NDDT ran between October 2009 and March 2010. It provided North Doncaster homes with additional home security, including;
- Door Chains
- Window Locks
- Spy Holes
- Smart Water
- Light Timers
- Window Alarms
