Doncaster Motor Spares

North Doncaster Development Trust has provided support to Doncaster Motor Spares to access funds to build the business park. This project involves the construction of a business park for speculative use that is situated next to the site of Doncaster Motor Spares on Bentley Moor Lane. Though there was a delay at the start the site’s construction is now well underway. It is expected that the site will be completed in April 2008.

Key statistic - The site is being built on 3 acres of brownfield land, that’s the equivalent to 46 tennis courts!

Hutton Business Park

North Doncaster Development Trust has worked with Clive Hutton to draw down funds to build this managed workspace. The construction of Hutton Business Park was completed in March 2007. The site was officially opened by Ed Miliband MP in July 2007 and since then the units have been filling up well with the site now being almost full. As a result of this successful partnership working between NDDT and private business, local businesses now have access to modern and affordable managed workspace with additional benefits including a reception service, catering facilities and a fully equipped gym. Clive Hutton is now exploring new opportunities for the site and NDDT is looking to work with him to develop some of these further.

Key statistic - The site has been built on 1.06 hectares of land, that’s the equivalent of 8 and a half Olympic swimming pools!

Brooklands Road Industrial Estate

Brooklands is a 20 site industrial estate that was owned by Doncaster Council and was at threat of going to auction which would have resulted in a very uncertain future for the site and particularly the tenants. After much hard work by the Trust, Doncaster Council was persuaded to sell the Trust and a consortium of five tenants. A separate company was formed (Brooklands Trade Developments) after a series of very open and productive meetings. The tenants to the site were all issued with new leases and the new company began trading. Since taking over the site there has been full occupancy with a waiting list. The 5 tenants have done some refurbishment of the site and the long term plan is to look to further developing the site.

Key statistic - 20 industrial units have been secured, assisting in the economic regeneration of the area.
